The Chinese Foreign Ministry has warned American officials not to meet with the Dalai Lama, who’s currently visiting the US.
　　Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei says China opposes such trips by the Dalai Lama, adding that he uses these opportunities to engage in separatist activities. China reiterates that it opposes any foreign governments or politicians supporting, aiding, orabetting such attempts by the Dalai Lama.
　　Hong Lei says that China hopes the US strictly abides by its promises on the Tibet issue, while cautiously and appropriately dealing with relevant situations.
