China, Uruguay Sign Trade and Investment Accords During Wen Visit

　　China and Uruguay signed trade and investment agreements on Friday as part of a regional goodwill tour by Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao.

　　上周五，中国国务院总理温家宝访问乌拉圭期间，中乌两国签署了多项贸易和投资协议。此次乌拉圭之行是温家宝对南美地区友好访问的一部分。

　　Mr. Wen met with Uruguay’s President Jose Mujica for several hours Friday afternoon.

　　周五下午，温家宝与乌拉圭总统穆希卡(Jose Mujica)进行了长达数小时的会谈。

　　Uruguay’s ambassador to China, Rosario Portell, said at a conference the accords aim to increase Uruguay’s farm exports as well as Chinese investment in the tiny South American nation, especially in the auto industry and ports.

　　乌拉圭驻华大使波特利(Rosario Portell)在会议上说，这些协议旨在增加乌拉圭的农产品出口，扩大中国在乌拉圭的投资，尤其是对汽车业和港口的投资。

　　Ms. Portell said cooperation between the central banks of the two countries wasn’t on the agenda.

　　波特利说，两国央行的合作不在议事日程之内。

　　Though it ranks as the smallest country on Mr. Wen’s South America tour with a population of fewer than 4 million people, Uruguay is home to some of the richest farmland on the continent. Its territory is also thought to hold undeveloped mineral and hydrocarbon wealth.

　　尽管乌拉圭只有不到400万人口，是温家宝此次南美洲之行所访问的最小的国家，乌拉圭却拥有南美洲最肥沃的农田。据信乌拉圭的领土内蕴藏着大量未开发的矿物和烃类资源。

　　Bilateral trade was about $2.5 billion last year, though heavily tilted in China’s favor with the Asian giant running a surplus of $627 million, according to Uruguay’s government.

　　根据乌拉圭政府提供的数据，去年中乌双边贸易额约为25亿美元，但严重向有利于中国的方向倾斜，中乌贸易顺差为6.27亿美元。

　　Mr. Wen arrived in the Uruguayan capital Friday, and is scheduled to depart Saturday for a three-day visit in neighboring Argentina.

　　温家宝上周五抵达乌拉圭首都蒙得维的亚，并计划于周六从这里前往乌拉圭的邻国阿根廷，对阿根廷进行为期三天的访问。
